Home Shall Be Here Tour and Workshops
The Home Shall Be Here Project amplifies the power of musical gatherings as ritual spaces for reflection and connection. These gatherings, held in a warm and inviting atmosphere, focus on guided meditation, audience participation, and inspirational harp and guitar music. Delve into meditative soundscapes and rhythms that connect you to the ‘home’ of your body, community and planet. Come as you are, be a part of a shared experience, leave inspired and connected.
Testimonials from participants have revealed that these events were transformative experiences, offering a “profound sense of community” and“an intricate depth of feeling in the music, a depth I got to experience as well.”
Our home needs to expand beyond the four walls of our inner dialogue and the buildings where we live. In his compelling new book, Lost Connections, Johann Hari says that “to overcome our depression and anxiety—the first step, and one of the most crucial—is coming together.”
Spring 2019 Alberta - British Columbia Tour
We are currently booking 15 performances and 4 workshops in 12 communities (including Canmore, Nelson, Cranbrook, Vancouver, Victoria, Whistler, Kamloops and Golden) from April 24 - May 12, 2019. We will engage non-profits, artists and other musicians in each location that align with the message and can provide a local perspective. Venues include community centres, yoga studios, churches, and private homes.
Workshops follow the performances and are held within the next few days. Designed to ignite creative confidence, they offer concert participants (and anyone else who may be interested) guided hands-on instruction on how to build their musical practice, with a focus on improvisation and songwriting. We also offer opportunities to share stories and discuss mental health resources. No musical experience or background is necessary - access is open to all - and the workshop material is tailored to those who attend. Bring your instruments!
